Should the USA outlaw guns now or be damned to self destruct?

i can see it from both sides of the argument. i think we are damned if we do and damned if we dont. its our constitutional right to own a gun but there are more people that id prefer to see without a gun then those that id prefer to see with a gun. i think that we need to sit down and rewrite the constitution. let it be brought up to date. it needs to fit the world we live in today not the world as it used to be.
