Is this grammatically correct, and does it flow? ( Just 5 sentences)?

In the short story “The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant” by W.D Wetherell, the author utilizes internal conflict between the man and himself to highlight the theme that desires often lead to forgetting an individual’s values, instigating regret. After being driven by a hormonal desire and obsession to impress Sheila or procure his first large bass, the narrator chooses the prior. Immediately after, he portrays visible disappointment “With a sick nauseous feeling in my stomach, I saw the rod unbend” while appeasing Sheila, he displeases himself, thus regretting the choice (196). The manner in which the internal conflict is embodied, strengthens that doing what is in accordance to a personal value should go above another’s, so as to avoid disappointment.
