Help designing a mask for school project?

A project for school involves me creating a mask out of cardboard that embodies our culture and how teenagers are often considered self centered. I was considering making like a ipod as the mask and tape my earbuds to that so I'm literally tuned into my own world while ignoring everything else. Thoughts? Any other ideas would be a big help! Thanks!
