Where to find rocks to put in my aquarium?

Are there any rocks (not bought) that I can safely put in my aquarium? I know that I would need to boil them and test with vinegar. Even if I could find some at a hardware or craftstore or something. The ones at pet stores just seem so expensive. I'm in the Columbus, OH area, if that helps.
