Should I leave him or stick it out for the kid?

My boyfriend/ son's dad just got fired. Again. It was partially due to his boss's incompetence, but still. We have lived in seven places in three years, and he has had eight jobs. I love his personality but he is stress embodied. He is a great dad, do not get me wrong. But I can't make up my mind if he's just hitting a rough patch...or if he's just not worth my time. Our son is eight months old. If I leave him, chances are I will have to quit my job to be able to watch him. I am living in an area way too far from my family and friends, thus have no one to room with. If I leave him, I will have to quit. Its a minimum wage part-time job. I am currently in school, getting my associates in Criminal Justice, so please don't feed me a spiel about bettering myself before I better others. I want what is best for my son, but I have to keep my sanity in mind as well. Suggestions?
