Can you freeze homemade soups?

I make my own soups and wondered about freezing same. I have it in the back of my head somewhere that there are some things which don't freeze well and wondered about soup? Main ingredients lentils, peas, butter beans, potatoes, carrrots etc. Basically can you safely freeze homemade soups?
